Monica Cherrington is an architectural designer currently advancing her studies at the Southern California Institute of Architecture as a Master of Architecture II student. She graduated Andrews University, a private school in Michigan, with her Bachelors of Science in Architecture. Years of experience as a portrait artist contributed to her passion for emotional, sculptural design. Within school, she continued to carve her architectural dream by taking leadership roles in AIAS, NOMAS, and NCARB.
She now aims to reimagine the architectural landscape and share her experience by focusing on depth and proportion – promoting a quality sense of place and connecting people to their environment constitute the vision of her work. Her skills include Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Z Brush, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine 5, Lumion, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite. She is adaptable and fluent in both Mac OS and Windows pc's.

Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Los Angeles, CA, US, MArch, March II
The March II program at SCI-Arc is geared to propel speculative design exploration and new modes of communication, while advancing formal experimentation that expands the boundaries of contemporary architectural practice.
So far, my research and projects have dealt with adaptive reconstruction, questioning the contemporary architectural status of building material and reimagining the term "architecture of reuse". I have learned to use the tools at the forefront of digital design to develop formal techniques, aesthetic sensibilities, and project representation through narratives, and deepen the understanding of architectural principles.
Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI, US, Bachelors, Architecture
At Andrews, I learned to care not only about beauty, but structures. We sought to uplift people's experience, but also be stewards of limited resources. Drawing and seeing architecture as a creative art and solving technical problems and solutions to daily life by thorough research was the aim of my studies at Andrews. Designing in detail, but also keeping the bigger picture in mind – caring about the craftsmanship. At Andrews, I learned to build architecture for people. A community will thrive when you connect people with nature, connect people with places, and connect people with others.
