By removing one of the smaller first floor bedrooms, a new light-filled double height space has been created at the entry to this refurbished 1940’s house. The remainder of the house is organised into public, semi public and private space. The work included external insulation, replacement of all the windows and heating system as well as two new single storey lightweight timber wings. The new kitchen and dining wing projects into the garden, providing an east facing dining space which opens out onto the outdoor area. The new insulated façade projects a contemporary frontage to the street, with a unique panel façade designed using a pattern developed with the typographer client.
