Monique Morales is an interior designer in essence, but a traditional artist at heart. She uses interior design as a tool to convey the concepts she needs to produce dynamic and compelling spaces. She attempts to invoke a varied client base by making statements and design one can see from multiple views.
Having a background in painting, drawing, and photography has greatly influenced Monique in her work and form that she has carries into her design. Monique studied painting and drawing in Florence, Italy for a year while attending the Scuola del Nudo in the Accademia di Belli Arti. She then completed her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Photography from California State University, Fullerton.
After working as a product photographer in a furniture and lighting production studio, her interest began to expand into the world of interior design. Because of Monique’s drawing and image manipulating skillsets, her position at the studio quickly expanded into custom furniture design and 3D rendering of interior spaces. Monique finally found a field where she was able to combine her assorted skill sets of fine arts, color, and perspective into one art form, interior design. Yearning for more knowledge and technique within the interior design field, she decided to acquire a professional designation degree in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. With interior design, Monique feels that she is able to reach a greater audience in a more profound way than with any single art piece could achieve. Being able to change and mold the emotions of an environment, and the people in it is an esoteric experience that gives her purpose, fulfillment, and the drive to constantly create.
