hello
i'm proposing brick as a material for my studio project this term.
i was wondering if anyone knew of any contemporary precedents that uses brick in a non-brutal manner? something that alludes to porosity or has a lot of play with glazing as well?
i have no idea about contemporary possibilities with brick....
any suggestions?

check out the weingut gantenbeim by Bearth & Deplazes, the brick-laying robot (developed by the ETH Zürich) made the brick on this building like a transparant skin.

anyone want to throw down some curved brick examples other than what's been posted above? something in the same vein as dieste but more recent. bonus points for curves in multiple directions.

Is some of that curvy roto stuff solid or veneer? Awesome stuff, either way.
Curves off veritical in multiple directions... with a veneer, how is that detailed? Leaning off vertical, do typ. wall ties, etc. provide adequate support?
