Currently 25 , in the uk and studying a QS degree . What steps can I take to become a architect ,what should i do everyday so I build the skills and portfolio needed to apply for a master in architecture and work for architectural firm . Thinking of trying to be CAD or revit technician first to get foot in door . Not sure what firms would be looking for in building a portfolio and not at a high level at CAD or revit or rendering currently . Looking for guidance on what work should i do everyday so I can be successful in being accepted in M.arch( USA or Uk) program and getting foot in the door. Also would a quantity surveying degree mean I can take Part 1 RIBA exam.

25 isn't old to start, at least not in the US. The average age of students in M.Arch programs is around 27, and includes younger people, but also lots of people in their 30s, and the occasional 40s or 50s. If it's a 2nd professional M.Arch (a post-pro degree) then the average is even older.
