Hello,my name is Arthur from France,my friend Showed me a model of a house he have made for his architecture work with his cnc machine while he was babysitting his kid,and since that i wondering,since it's easy and fast to use that machine(his kid didnt die lol),what about a CNC machine specificly made for architects, a machine that will transfert the creativity and the ingenious ideas of an architect to a reality,would you want a machine like that?what do you all think about my idea ??or am i just dreaming again. Im not an architect you guys are the experts in the domain.

I'm an architect and I have personally built a CNC machine from scratch in my garage. This is a total dream. It takes a serious amount of effort to create quality products with a CNC machine. Programing tool paths, feeds and speed for different materials, work holding, tabs part clean up, maintenance, keeping the rig square the list goes on. Its great tool and a really fun and useful hobby, but I think the chances of your everyday architect needing one is slim compared to say a 3d printer or laser cutter. Also they are usually loud as hell and could not be run in a normal office environment. I don't let my child go anywhere near the machine without hearing protection. Things go wrong occasionally and when they do it is bad, broken bits of sharp hardened steel flying through the air, work pieces ruined quickly, fire. I would say your friend is probably exaggerating just how easy it was and that he did it while babysitting sounds like bullshit.

Do me a favor, Arthur from France, tell your friend that "babysitting his kid" is called "parenting" or even "being a dad" if you need to explain it further.

I was thinking about building one in my shop. More for making furniture than architecture. physical models aren't used all that often, but making full-scale mock-ups might be fun.
Building something for architects is kind of a niche thing. On top of that, finding architects that would use it in their practice is even more niche. On top of that, finding architects that would use it and haven't gone out and gotten/built their own is even more niche.
My guess is that it's not a problem that needs to be solved. If they want a cnc router, they'll go out and get one.
