I don't know much about the graphics card but processing is good. I'd go with the 16GB just because if your program is like mine you are going to be using A LOT of memory in cad drawings/photoshop/illustrations/rhino. I dont even put music or photos into my laptop because im scared I'll run out of memory, although the easy fix to that is to just buy storage devices. The big tradeoffs I've experienced with Microsoft vs. Apple is that with Apple you don't have to worry about renewing antivirus memberships (I'm aware that there is a 0.00001% chance of getting a trojan and other mild bugs). With Microsoft you do but flip side to that is a good portion of programs are made strictly for microsoft and not apple (Rhino's working on an apple version and the beta is actually free, Revit is a no go) so if you wanted to run these programs you'd have to run what is called parallel and basically have a windows on a mac. For first year I haven't had to do a parallel yet but if we ever get to Revit which I'm not sure they teach at my school I would.
If you want more info though this has been talked about infinitely here so there is tons of it in previous posts

He or she asked the same stupid question last time.
No, it's not enough for UHD porn.
Yes, it works if that's all you can afford. Accept that or find ways to pay more for something better.
Hi, I'm starting. College next fall and I need to buy a new laptop, I was wondering if this one was good enough: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-silver/2606028.p?id=1219550858261&skuId=2606028&pid=1219550858261
