The owners of this serene stone lodge on a hilltop in Briarcliff Manor brought their affinity for East Asian design to this kitchen and master bath renovation. The highly refined material palette in the kitchen was developed in conjunction with Henrybuilt kitchens and was heavily influenced by the existing warm mahogany trim throughout the house.
The master bath pulled inspiration from the Japanese garden surrounding the master suite. The design is greatly enhanced by custom-crafted shoji screens, floating wood shelves, and stone vessel sink basins atop a tansu cabinet vanity built by a traditional Japanese woodworker in Brooklyn. The other centerpiece is a Hinoki Ofuro soaking tub that was built in Alaska and is set in a pool of polished black pebbles.
The attention to detail and extreme care is taken to coordinate the finishes and fixtures by the owners, architect, lighting designer, woodworker, and builder all contribute to the modern elegance of this kitchen and master bath.
