The MIT Department of Architecture invites applications for the Pietro Belluschi Teaching Fellowship and the Marion Mahony Emerging Practioner Fellow. Applications are due on March 23, 2018. Details are available on the Department's website.
The Pietro Belluschi Teaching Fellowship, named in honor of Dean Belluschi, is a full time nine-month appointment with the possibility of an extension for one additional academic year after review. The fellowship is for the academic year beginning in September 2018.
The Belluschi Fellowship was established specifically to support architects and designers who are recent graduates in the early stages of their careers. The position offers the opportunity to teach in the graduate and / or undergraduate programs in architecture and design, while also pursuing individual research and / or design research in the cross-disciplinary environment of the department and Institute. Applicants will be expected to teach three courses per academic year, which may include studios, seminars, workshops and lecture courses. Applicants are also expected to participate in the service activities and cultural life of the Department and will have an opportunity to share their work in either a lecture or exhibition venue at the end of their fellowship.

The Marion Mahony Emerging Practitioner Fellowship, named in honor of alumnus Marion Mahony, is a full time one year appointment with a possibility of extension to two years. The fellowship is for the academic year beginning in September 2018.
The Mahony Fellowship is a position that offers an ‘emerging practitioner’ the opportunity to advance her / his research, teaching and practice within the multi-disciplinary environment of the Department of Architecture. The position is oriented to architects with several years of experience that wish to advance their careers through an association with the faculty and academic environment of the Department, as well as the broader community of the School of Architecture and Planning. An applicant should be able to articulate an intellectual agenda that engages the resources of the Department to advance design research and/ or creative practice.
The position offers the opportunity to teach design in the MArch program at Core and / or Option studios, and / or the undergraduate studios in design. Applicants will be expected to teach two courses per academic year, including studios, seminars, workshop and lecture courses, as well as develop a research agenda to be shared through a lecture or exhibition of the Department. Applicants are also expected to participate in the service activities and cultural life of the Department.
