I thrive being in an immersive and dynamic work culture where I can be challenged by my peers daily while also gaining new knowledge to develop my skills.  I enjoy identifying problems and creating solutions to remedy the issues that have been found and to further push the overall design.

Design and architecture are not purely digital or computational, I believe that there is a 60/40 split between the physical and the virtual that must be acknowledged to generate exceptional design. By taking assemblies and materials into account as well as the process of expanding the dialogue that’s created when designing, these three major components can maximize the design potential. Creating a feedback loop of material into computation and the computation into the material while utilizing technology to further both develops an intersection where dynamic design can occur.

MSF Design, Corbin, KY, US, Founder / Digital Designer

Offers a full suite of design services to clients including 2D drafting, 3D modeling, computational modeling, interior and exterior visualization, graphic design, digital fabrication consulting, and 3D print file preparation

Developed full 3D models from 2D plans and images for an architectural office so they could then expand on their design trajectory for their proposed design presentation to their client

Developed and prepped 3D models to then render with various software including VRay and Sketchup for a real estate client, which were then presented to potential buyers

Jun 2019 - current

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, US, MSc Research Fellow

Progressed research being conducted by MSc DMT Director Catie Newell on auxetic and acoustic glass patterns by developing and fabricating a robotic end effector to allow for analysis of acoustical properties of slumped glass

Cast several different prototypes for analyzing concrete adhesion to a variety of glass forms for installation within a more extensive project

Jul 2018 - May 2019

University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, US, Research Assistant

Initiated first contact meetings between the Director of Design Technology of the College of Design with the College of Agriculture to discuss the use of real-time kinematic GPS technology on a construction level

Created renderings and documents for initial design proposals for a potential urban renewal project

Drafted purchase proposals for various technology needed to progress design research within the College of Design

University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, US, Teaching Assistant - ARC 435 Materials and Methods

Lead class discussion over new and emerging technology, materials, parametric workflows, generative workflows, and fabrication methods within the AEC industry

Organized and lead a lecture and workshop to develop parametric skills utilizing Rhino + Grasshopper and potentials to increase design capacity within more complex workflows

Developed a complex spreadsheet to maximize data over student performance, which identified students that needed additional support quickly

Engaged and maintained feedback processes to establish active communication in which students consider and critique the evaluation of their work

Aug 2017 - Dec 2017

REB Architects, PLLC, Lexington, KY, US, Architectural Intern

Prepared construction documents and initial project proposals for Kentucky Housing and Urban Development projects

Completed site visits to projects that were in progress to ensure that construction progress and quality was satisfactory, identifying any discrepancies or issues

Completed consultations with clients for a multi-family housing development project within the Louisville, Kentucky area to dialogue design necessities while mapping the scope of the project
