Thriving communities need public space. In spring 2016, Mid City Studio designed a curriculum for 3rd grade students at The Dufrocq School and Bernard Terrace Elementary in Baton Rouge, LA. Students learned about the history, geography, and culture of the Mid City, BR area by making maps, laying out timelines, and taking photos to document how they see Mid City. The students' photos are on display in a public exhibit in Spain Street Park located at 2191 Spain Street in Baton Rouge.
The curriculum and exhibit were funded by the William Edwin Montan Charitable Trust and made possible through support from Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, East Baton Rouge Public Schools, Lettermans Blueprint and Supply, BREC, Brewhaha Inc., and Garden District Nursery.
