MIAS Architects is an internationally recognized Architecture and Urbanism Studio, founded by Josep Miàs in 2000, known for both its experimental projects and its practice combining sustainable technology, innovative manufacturing and cutting-edge construction practices.
Before founding MIAS, Josep Miàs was an Associate Architect at Enric Miralles’ studio from 1990 to 2000. Since then, MIAS Architects has gained international recognition for projects such as the Fontanals Golf Club, the Urbanization of the Historic Center of Banyoles, the Barceloneta Market, the 22@Plug-in Building, the iGuzzini Lighting Iberian Headquarters, the Torre Baró Apartment Tower, the Cloud Andorra Telecom Headquarters, their ongoing collaboration with Tibidabo Amusement Park and with their shortlisted proposal for the New Camp Nou, F.C. Barcelona Stadium.
In 2020, the Centre Pompidou acquired 42 models, 14 drawings and 18 engravings for the Permanent Collection. In 2021, the Catalan Government and the Barcelona City Council recognized the international career of MIAS Architects with the first monographic exhibition at the Museum of Design and Architecture of Barcelona, dedicated to a currently working firm.
