MHG Architects, P.C., founded in 1967 as Herbert L. Mandel, P.C. has some 40 years of experience in architecture and planning. The firm's completed projects, while focused primarily on residential developments and community planning, include a broad spectrum of educational, commercial, retail and institutional facilities involving new construction as well as rehabilitation. The office has been responsible for the design of over 20,000 new and rehabilitated housing units of all types and varieties.
The firm provides a full range of architectural and planning services including master planning, site planning, zoning analysis, programming, existing conditions surveys, building design, contract documents and construction administration, as well as in-house construction cost estimates and specifications. Members of the firm serve on technical advisory panels to public agencies, community groups and professional organizations related to the building industry.
Herbert L. Mandel, AIA, founded the firm in 1967. In 1979, Lawrence I. Harvey, AIA, formerly an Associate Partner, became a principal when the firm was incorporated. Michael S. Gelfand joined the firm in 2006 and became a principal on January 1st, 2007.
