Our vision of Portland’s new Cultural Center disposes of existing typologies in favor of a new model that exploits the tensions and possibilities of virtual /actual relationships. In addition, rather than creating an archival body based on conventional views of culture, history and expertise, the new Cultural Center is comprised of user generated content, integrating the concept that “culture is people”, and inviting the wider community of Portland and beyond to participate in, experience and create, Portland Culture.
