Takifuji Awards, Nomination
“The Takafuji Art Award” in 1980 aims to foster young talents who could contribute to the future of public art. They have extended invitations to overseas students. Presently, the scholarship draws students from 13 foreign institutions as well as 13 domestic colleges. Over the last 40 years (by 2019), they have provided support for a total of 758 young art students from Japan and abroad. Some have become leaders in the art world.
Student Day + Design Challenge, 2nd Place
Visiting schools split up into teams to solve a case study client scenario, tasked to collaboratively provide an original, creative and relevant solution to suit the client’s needs. The students presented their ideas to a panel of judges and received feedback on their presentations. Afterwards, judges chose winners for awards. Students of the Woodbury School of Architecture and California State University, Long Beach tied for the Bronze Award; ArtCenter College of Design won the Silver Award; and University of Los Angeles, California won the Gold Award.
IIDA Portfolio Competition, Award
The Innovation in Interior Design Award is awarded to a student with a project that achieves a high level of innovation through design solutions that show creativity and a fresh approach. The focus of this category is in the process of achieving the end result through techniques that can include research, inspiration, ideation, experimentation and graphic thinking.
Woodbury Prize, Scholarship
The Woodbury Prize is awarded to one student in the Los Angeles region. Students submit a portfolio for review and are selected by the Woodbury University School of Architecture Competition Jury.
Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship, Scholarship
The Angelo Donghia Foundation’s Senior Student Scholarship Program in Interior Design awards scholarships to seniors in baccalaureate programs in universities and schools of interior design located throughout the United States. A jury comprised of design professionals, educators, and editors determines the winners of the merit-based scholarship that assists students with expenses in their final year of study.
