Melanie Murata is a Designer at Gensler delivering innovative design to clients globally. Whether it's providing design direction for an investor presentation, leading the design for hotel interiors, or developing a branded graphics strategy for a workplace environment, Melanie approaches every project with the goal of exceeding client expectations. Her interdisciplinary approach, meticulous attention to detail, and international perspective brings a unique dimension to projects and teams. She has served on the ASID National Board of Directors and was recently a speaker on the Shape Shifters panel discussion at BDNY.
Melanie graduated with a Master's Degree in Interior Architecture & Design from the CIDA-accredited program at Florida State University. Her thesis focused on The Future of Pop-Up Retail Experiences & Interactive Storytelling, and how innovative retail strategies have the power to create social impact globally. She studied Architecture in Florence, Italy through the FSU Study Abroad Program. She is the recipient of awards including, the 2014 NEWH FR-One International Scholarship, the 2014 ASID Student Leadership Award, and the 2013 NeoCon Student Design Challenge Award.
Melanie is a LEED Green Associate and actively pursuing NCIDQ certification.
