Megan Robitaille is a recent graduate from Wayne State University. In December 2012, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with focus in Industrial Design.
During her education she received Honorable Mention for Best Development Potential in the Detroit Aircraft Corporation’s Design Challenge. She additionally earned First Place in the Year End Student Competition for the Industrial Design Department. She was chosen to supervise the computer lab for the art department, and also worked in the University Woodshop.
She has experience in presentation, product, exhibit, and transportation design. Her favorite part of the design process is conceptualizing ideas, analyzing brand identities, understanding target markets and consumer needs.
Her technical skills and knowledge include: sketching, hand rendering, computer rendering, template design, photo editing, CAD 3-D modeling, 3-D printing, batch manufacturing, physical model making from mediums such as high density foam and vacuum formed plastics. In addition to all of these achievements, Megan has also studied abroad at the University of Shanghai, in Shanghai, China. In a month long workshop, she designed and collaborated with students of various nationalities.
Outside of design, Megan has continuously excelled in her pre-professional career and she would be an excellent addition to your team.
Organic, Inc., Troy, MI, US, Receptionist/ Assistant Art Buyer
Currently, I am transitioning from my receptionist position to an assistant art buyer I received this promotion because of the imagery and creativity I have included in interoffice memos.
I have had the opportunity to be more than just a receptionist at Organic, Inc. I have designed the office newsletter, participated in brain storming sessions for scriptwriting, assisted in a film shoot, and archived and managed purchased stock photography. Some up coming project I will be working on is creating and organizing a font library for the entire company.
Some other responisbities I have at Organic are office funature research and purchases, office supplies inventory and purchases, organiztion and maintain functional spaces of the office. I also have developed a training manual and guide for the Front Desk Receptionist position.
One thing I have accomplished at Organic is the contributibution to cost cuts for office suply purchases. I researched and organized bids from venders for eco-friendly office supplies. So far I have created proposal that will cut our expenditures for a majority of our office supply purchases by nearly 50%.
