M.E. Contracting was called in to do a complete landscaping architecture, design and construction for this house. The family’s backyard was quite large and they wanted to utilize it throughout the year.

When coming up with the design for the project we went through a consultation period where we considered the family’s kids ages, their hobbies and activities as well as the family’s social activities. Furthermore, the landscaping design they wanted should be easy to maintain and offer a year-round access.

The pool area has a Cabana made out of cedar with 2 showers and change areas, the pool itself is made out of fiberglass and includes a built-in hot tab with a 2-tone natural stone pool deck around it.

The family loves to entertain so we created an outdoor kitchen area with built-in BBQ, fridge and full sink hookup as well as granite countertops around it. The outdoor kitchen was made to be accessible throughout the year so we built a metal pergola with glass roof to protect the area from the elements.

Finally, the 2 boys wanted to have a basketball court so we added a 40x40ft court using special materials and a full height basket. The challenge at this area was due to the grading we needed as well as the retaining wall we had to erect to make sure the area is leveled throughout.

The whole landscaping project interlocking was paved by us as well as we wanted to create a unified look throughout the front and backyard of the house so we used similar stones and colours from the front driveway to the pool area
