Currently an elementary school, the building needed fresh interiors, updated mechanical equipment, to code restrooms and a more secure entry sequence. The 9th Grade Center, opening in Fall 2018, accommodates 650 students in regular classrooms, technical classrooms, fine arts and athletic facilities. The renovated facility includes an updated entry canopy, a secured vestibule and an expanded main office. The Commons allows students to eat, congregate and learn in a centralized location. The library, cafeteria, breakout classrooms and extension to the outdoor classroom all come together in the Commons.
The school district emphasizes a high school education results in “more than a diploma.” Education can provide students with social, technical and academic skills to enter the workforce, continue onto college or receive advanced technical training. The 9th Grade Center embodies this vision by providing flexible spaces to maximize a student’s potential.
