Michael David Rose has practiced the art of photography since 1989. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyon College with a major in photography. He also completed post-graduate photography programs at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Arizona, Tucson. Michael interned and then was hired as an associate at Hedrich Blessing where he worked for 4 years. He also served as the staff photographer for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago for 2 years. In 2003 Michael started his own photography firm, Michael David Rose Photography (MDRP).
MDRP secured its first job when Engberg Anderson Design Partnership (EADP) selected MDRP to photograph the Kenosha Public Museum. The projects Michael documented with EADP won several awards including The Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation and the International Institute for Masonry Design. In the first five years of MDRP Michael worked for 49 different design firms on over 150 projects.
Michael moved the MDRP offices to San Francisco in 2007. Recent publications include Wallpaper* City Guides, Green Source Magazine, Art Forum, New York Times and Conde Nast . Recent clients have taken Michael to locations including Chicago, St. Louis, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Boston. Michael is a Professional Affiliate of the AIA San Francisco and a member of the St. Francis Yacht Club.
