The Yuvaratna competition organized by Birla White, the challenge was to design a skill-based learning environment for an NGO to be built in Phulgaon, Pune. The proposed site was of 24,000 sqm, highly contoured in certain parts and having the Bhima river right behind it on the Northern side, from where the winds flow.
My approach to the design was to create an environment that boasts the community spirit for the pupils who reside / visit the campus, 'The Street'. Consisting of a total of 8 blocks, the ground coverage goes up to about 25%. The remaining spaces are left for future expansion, and also the contured parts preserved in line of sustainability. The blocks are so placed so as to allow wind flow through the site easily and cool it.
