Bike Factory

LOCATED NEXT TO THE READING VIADUCT, A NEW BIKE FACTORY IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE MORE BIKERS WITHIN THE CITY TO MINIMIZE THE USE OF VEHICLES. THE FACTORY’S DESIGN INCORPORATES THE FOLDING BIKE BY CREATING A GRID SYSTEM THAT IS ENCLOSED IN A FOLDING SKIN. THE FOLDING BIKE IS CONSTRUCTED BY TAKING THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE BIKE AND FITTING THEM TOGETHER TO CREATE THE BIKE IN TOTALITY. THIS CONNECTS TO THE STRUCTURE BECAUSE IT SIGNIFIES A COMPARTMENTALIZED SYSTEM, JUST LIKE THE GRID STRUCTURE IS MADE UP OF SEVERAL CUBES CONNECTED TOGETHER .  THE BIKE THAT IS BUILT WITHIN THE FACTORY CAN EASILY BE FOLDED, SO THE FOLDING SKIN REPLICATES A SINGLE PIECE OF GLASS FOLDED TO COVER THE CUBES OF THE STRUCTURE. THIS RESEMBLES THE BIKE BECAUSE IT CREATES A SKIN THAT FOLDS OVER ALL THE DIFFERNT ELEMENTS THAT ARE NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT THE BIKE AND FITS THEM ALL TOGETHER TO CREATE A LIGHT WEIGHT AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE SYSTEM.
