st Gerlach

Adding the heritage farmhouse Hoeve Broers to the domain of Château St. Gerlach in the south of the Netherlands, gives the estate a clear orientation towards the village. Behind the farmhouse, a state-of-the-art pavilion will be built, serving as a multifunctional conference and meeting space, connecting Hoeve Broers with the other buildings on the estate.
Generously proportioned roof
Mecanoo designed an elegant pavilion with a generously proportioned roof, creating a canopy on all sides. The transparent facade will ensure that the interior and exterior are intertwined. From the pavilion guests will have surprising views over the château, the hills, the meadow and the renovated farmhouse. The atmospheric square between the pavilion and the old farm can be used as an outdoor event space.
Inspired by Limburg
The pavilion will consist of three multifunctional meeting rooms that can be used separately or combined, offering a unique location for a variety of meetings and events. The materials used are inspired by the surrounding Limburg nature: marlstone, bluestone and oak. Deep warm colours, distinctive details and carefully selected furniture pieces result in a rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Restored farmhouse

The 1668 farmhouse is a national monument and will be restored to house meeting rooms, a café and restaurant, as well as a store selling products made on the estate. The interior design and materialisation refer to the previous function of the farm.
