A low energy house within a dense urban context, the scheme is designed
to be comfortable in the much higher temperature summers that are
expected later this century. The project covers sustainability in all
aspects from its conextual footprint, loose-fit planning, passive solar
design, thermal mass, careful choice of low energy materials, rainwater
harvesting, waste composting, black/white absorptive/reflective cladding
choices, ground source heat pump, solar hot water, solar and wind
electricity generation and food gardening.
