My name is Mark Solden, a Pratt Institute School of Architecture graduate, registered in Pennsylvania since June of 2001 with NCARB reciprocity in New Jersey since January of 2004. As a registered architect who has worked for an architect and sister general contractor company over the last nine years along with other architectural, interior design and consulting firms in the past, I am pleased to enclose herewith for your consideration my resume, which outlines my professional and academic credentials along with two marketing boards reflecting condominium projects in which I was in charge of at PZS Architects, LLC as a project manager/project architect.
Recently with Puente Construction Enterprises, LLC at Dover Air Force Base as a QC Manager/LEED Site Supervisor and the Burlington County Library as the Quality Assurance Manager/Project Architect, in charge of RFI and submittal documentation via Primavera software, as-built drawings, field sketches, punch listing and project close-out documentation. Other tasks included running LEED, preparatory and initial phase meetings with sub-contractors, and preparing QC daily field and test reports.
As a Project Manager and Project Architect at PZS Architects over a six and a half year span, I was given the charge to work on two high-end luxury condominiums, The Ayer, an adaptive reuse project in collaboration with Wesley Wei Architects on Washington Square and 10 Rittenhouse Tower and Sales Center in collaboration with Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Given the responsibility to document the interior units, in coordination with consultants and manage a small team of architects, from initial existing condition documentation thru construction documentation and construction administration process in the field including punch listing. Both condominium projects included over two dozen unit customizations which required documentation, coordination with consultants, ownership representative, contractors, unit owner architects, interior designers, audio-visual, shade and window as well as structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, acoustical, and lighting consultants. Part of the Rittenhouse project also included the Alison Building fourth floor Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa Fit-out that included construction documentation thru bidding architectural services.
With PZS Architects, I had the opportunity to work on a joint venture project with MGA Partners on Temple University Morgan Residence Hall Towers Project, specifically designing the tower and mid-rise fully accessible and type B dormitory suites that included kitchens and two full baths.
Other projects at PZS Architects include St. Joseph University Villiger Residence Hall, Nueva Esperanza Junior College, Police Tactical Headquarters, Eliza Shirley Senior Housing, Mulberry Lofts, Shurs Lane Lofts, Baker’s Square Retail and Valley Square Town Center.
In addition, I have retail experience as well working for firms such as Haines Lundberg Waehler, Cope Linder Associates, Bower Lewis Thrower and Shapiro Petrauskas Gelber Architects. Specific projects include Battery Park City Commercial Center - Tower B, Reading Terminal Headhouse Retail Core and Shell (encompassing Hard Rock Cafe, Marriot Hotel, Pennsylvania State Liquor Store), Lehigh Valley Mall Renovation, Best Buy/Cingular Wireless at Eastgate Mall in Moorestown, New Jersey, Independence Seaport Museum Renovation and Expansion at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA, Pavilion at the Court, King of Prussia, Boscov’s Department Stores, Sundance Cinema at the University of Penn. I had the opportunity to work for Daroff Design Inc., implementing projects via AutoCad including the renovated Center City Embassy Suites Hotel, Comcast Corporate Headquarters, The City Of Philadelphia Municipal Services Building and Criminal Justice Center, The United States Postal Services Building, The City of Cleveland Police station and 911 Emergency Center and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Hotel.
