Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center - Rebuild

LAMC serves as Kaiser Permanente's Southern California tertiary center for over 23 medical specialties including cardiovascular surgery, pediatric intensive care, neurosurgery and high-risk obstetrics.  The first phase—the new 456-bed, 792,000 square foot facility provides comprehensive acute inpatient care and other intensive services. The building includes 20 operating rooms (OR);  an interventional imaging suite with dedicated beds and recovery/observation; an integrated heart hospital with six cardiovascular operating rooms; a cardiac catheterization with nine labs; a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit; a coronary care unit; and cardiac medical beds.  There is a children's center with pediatric intensive care; acute care nursing units; and a separate women's center with 11 labor and delivery suites supported by postpartum beds,  A separate services building serves the hospital and houses the central plant, materials management and other logistical programs for the campus.   In addition to being a leader during the construction process, additional goals were achieved in obtaining OSHPD Certificate of Substantial Completion and recommendation from The Joint Commission for licensing.  The hospital opened March 31, 2009
