My name is Maria Vaghani and I am interested in a Junior Architect position at your firm starting summer 2018. I have a diverse background ranging from Mural arts to Civil Engineering. Before enrolling to Mississippi State, I was working with Mural Arts, which gave me exposure to techniques of making art within an architectural context such as facade smalti mosaics and sgraffito along with interior frescoes and paintings. Civil Engineering program has given me a deep understanding of different structural systems, stress calculation, and component design. Such a combination shaped my rational perspective on design and helped me form a unique way of creative thinking which I would be honored to bring to your firm. In my projects, I find inspiration in connecting the intrinsic constraints of a physical site with the unique features of a building program while considering its social and public implications. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have been dedicated to becoming an open-minded professional, one who will be able to combine the artistic nature of design with the rational reality of construction and communicate effectively with professionals in other fields.
