The lot is located in the historic center of Seville. The idea is structured in two main themes:
1. A new square for the city: the gardens, formerly closed to pedestrian, are integrated to the axis of places in the neighborhood, creating a large public space, above the entrance to the library.
2. The lattice: in the concern of how to intervene in an old town with contemporary architectural language, seeks to create the identity of the new building using the urban fabric of the neighborhood, to reinterpret one of the main elements of Andalusian architecture of Moorish heritage; the lattice.
The blind also serves as a sunscreen and has been used historically to keep the intimacy from outside to inside, thanks to the play of chiaroscuro that it generates. Lets see the outside, but inside the visual is screened. In the library, has been applied to sites related to activities of silence and concentration, how the areas of reading.
