River Canopy Symbiotic refuge

The River Canopy Symbiotic Refuge is a place for healing and rebirth for both human and injured wildlife. The project was to focus on where man interrupts the life of the river and how the river bends and renews itself in reaction to these interruptions. The structures imitate leaves floating on the slow-moving headwaters of the Econlockhatchee River. The intervention floats along the river of the forest canopy and emphasizes staying above the water, not interfering with the course or life of the river. It is meant to be an observation platform for the drama of life that plays out on the Econlockhatchee River.
