Architect, planner, Urban Designer, educated, and licensed in Italy since 1999, Jean Pierre Maissa, since establishing MAISSA ARCHITECTURES in 2002, has built a successful portfolio of projects ranging from Urban design and remodeling to university campuses, office buildings, leisure, hospitality, and housing.
After several collaborations in Europe, Mr. Maissa has set up on his own since 2002. Key projects in France, Italy, Egypt, Gabon, and neighboring African countries. He is a champion of international collaborations, sometimes as a leading designer. Architect of the record for over $50 million on construction in multiple fields: education, corporate, retail, institutional, hospitality, and finance. He has participated in and led multiple Master Planning projects. He possesses a detailed-oriented mindset and organizational skills that have led him to navigate autonomously with flexibility various assignments and roles - scaling and sizing its office accordingly - whether piloting a small team of up to ten people - for over fifteen years - or posing as a stemming point for more extensive international collaborations. Licensed In Italy (1999), he is also a member of the Gabon Order of Architect (OGA), where he was a board member for three years (2012-15). Member of American Institute of Architects (Int’l Assoc. since 2020). He owns an Architecture Portfolio spanning 15years: including photos (copyrighted), digital documents and drawings, etc.
The project of the E3MG campus – a mining and metallurgy engineering school- in Moanda, Gabon, delivered in 2017, has been recognized internationally, as a finalist for the 2019 World Architectural Festival, with publications in Achdaily. This project is also featured in the newly released Dom Publisher Guide of Subsaharan African Architecture and in Dezeen.
