Public Baths: Proposal for Sheare Street, Cork City:

This project returns the ancient idea of public bathing to the city and offers facilities for commuting cyclists, patients of the Mercy Hospital and to the homeless.

Separate entrances accommodate all users on a tight site, re-using existing buildings and manipulating the section to allow visual links while maintaining physical separation. The complex includes a 20m lap pool, a plunge pool, showering cubicles, bicycle storage and a laundry service in the basement with a series of treatment rooms, spa facilities, thermal baths and outdoor pools and gathering above.
