I am an enthusiastic and dynamic future architect whose interests lie in adaptive reuse, creative design solutions, interesting detailing, and minimizing the environmental impact of architecture. At my current position, I was able to expand these interests as I developed an understanding of the complexities of building construction processes, and consequently how those processes and methods of construction affect design at all levels. In this position not only did I enjoy the challenge of creatively solving design problems, but it allowed me to gain valuable experience in communicating effectively with all persons involved in a project, and remaining organized and calm in time constrained situations.
My ability to face challenges directly and creatively manifests itself in my personal life as well. I am an experienced traveler who has lived in four geographically and culturally diverse cities and spent time on an extensive trip through Latin and South America, where I found profound enjoyment in being immersed in new environments. I have pushed myself to my goals of personal growth with achievements of learning a second language and building a bicycle.
