ARCHITECTURE TODAY IS ABOUT WHAT WE CAN SEE. PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT RATHER THAN TRYING TO DISCOVER WHAT A BUILDING HOLDS. IN CONTRAST, THIS BUILDING IS RARE BECAUSE IT CAN NEVER TRULY BE JUDGED AS AN OBJECT. YOU MUST EXPLORE AND UNDERGO IT, UNCOVERING ITS SPACES, ATMOSPHERE, AND DRAMA.
THIS URBAN EXPERIENCE OF EXPLORATION WITHIN A BUILDING IS UNIQUE. ATMOSPHERIC SPACES ARE DISCOVERED AS CAVERNOUS CORRIDORS LEAD YOU THROUGH THE PROGRAMS. OUR CREATION, URBEX, IS DEFINED AS THE EXPLORATION OF MAN-MADE STRUCTURES.
DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERIC SPACES AT MOMENTS BLEND INTO ONE, CREATING AREAS WHERE TWO ANTITHETICAL PROGRAMS - ROCK CLIMBING (ACTIVE) AND THERMAL BATHS (RELAXATION) - MERGE TOGETHER. URBEX PROVIDES FOR AN ENDLESS EXPERIENCE OF DISCOVERY AND ADVENTURE ON THE NEWLY DEVELOPED WATERFRONT OF SEATTLE’S ELLIOT'S BAY.
