The design of this five bedroom family home in Sevenoaks, was inspired by the need to mitigate the steep slope of the site. In raising the entrance by half a storey, the slope is reduced and circulation is animated away from a traditional format into an exciting mix of interlocking rooms all set around a 7.5 metre-high living space. Combined with a series of energy-saving devices, including a ground source heat pump, the design is a blueprint project for the practice.
