Program:
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is sponsoring a traveling exhibition that will visit a dozen major museums in the US (12 works x 12 cities x 2012). The exhibition will travel from city to city in the back of a twenty foot moving van.
Concept:
From Native Americans to Frank Lloyd Wright, both old and modern eras share similar geometric forms in design. It is important to show how the continuous geometric forms connect the whole gallery. Therefore, two different groups of artworks integrate the space from the open area to the closed area with a transition area in between. The closed area represents the old era while the open area represents the modern era.
