About

I have obtained the Master of Architecture Degree from Rice University in May 2020 and also had a Bachelor Degree of Engineering in Landscape Architecture from South China University of Technology. This interdisciplinary background allows me to design with a broader perspective and provides me with more comprehensive skills as well as professional experiences.

Through my eight half-years of landscape and architecture education in United States and China, I’ve always been inspired by the oscillating relationship between architecture, landscape and urban context. And I’m especially interested in investigating diverse possibilities of addressing social and cultural conditions of the ever-changing urbanization, through the lens of built objects and urban forms. Meanwhile, I think architecture should also be able to perform intellectually and interactively at different scales, from responding to its local ecological/urban environment sustainably, to specifically enhancing inhabitant’s experience.

In the past five years, I have worked as landscape and architecture intern in different type of design firms, ranging from personal studio to integrated architecture/planning firms, which had involved me in various office culture and helped me accumulate extensive professional experience including teamwork, practical design thinking, and enhanced ability in software/representation skills. During the boutique hotel project at Citiarc in summer 2015, I worked on the landscape master planning, prototype of the hotel units and participated in on-site research. Then in summer 2017 at HZS and 2019 at Gensler Shanghai, I mainly worked on urban design projects and competitions at various scales, including the site research and conceptual design of a tourism-real-estate project in Shantou; the retail space design and booklet representation of a mixed used tower project in Guangzhou; and document organization as well as landscape/tower design concepts of revitalizing a traditional neighborhood in historical downtown area of Shanghai. Additionally, I contributed to a Revit-based process of tech-company headquarter design in Menlo park San Francisco Bay Area during the 2018 summer internship at WRNS Studio, mainly focused on the interior design and plan organization.
