Ths 25-acre project is presently under construction on Huxindao Island in Xiamen, China.  The project will encompass an approximately 186,000 m2 residential program, consisting of high-rise and mid-rise apartments, townhouses, and single-family villas.  A majestic, castle-like clubhouse will be the gateway, where one’s journey into the development will begin by crossing a moat.  In the heart of the development, a green space inspired by Olmstead’s Central Park will provide the residents with space for recreation and relaxation.  In order to make the site pedestrian-friendly, all vehicular activity will occur at the entrance of the site before winding its way into subterranean parking. Ths project melds traditional Chinese and Mediterranean vocabulary with the extensive incorporation of courtyards, gardens, pergolas, teahouses, and clay tile roofs.
