Having first studied and worked as an electrical engineer, my technical strengths and systematic approach are foundational to my process of design. However, it is the expressive capability of architecture and its ability to affect the everyday experiences of people that drew me to the field, and continues to inspire my design outlook.
Reiser + Umemoto Architecture PC, New York, NY, US, Business Developer and Junior Designer
Analyzed and developed business and marketing approaches to expand into the US markets, developed multiple competition proposals, designed brochures and booklets, researched university campus building trends, in addition to cleaning up plans and sections, organizing and attending meetings with AORs and clients, and various other tasks
Analog Devices, Inc., Wilmington, MA, US, Photonic Systems Engineer, MEMS Adv Dev Characterization Engr, MEMS Product Engr
Photonic Systems Engineer, Autonomous Transportation & Safety Group, Sept 2017 – June 2019
● Worked with a recently acquired technology group and high throughput testing groups to develop a test solution for a non-mechanical beam steering product. Additionally, involved in the development of calibration and reliability testing techniques for said application.
MEMS Advanced Development Characterization Engineer, Feb 2015 – Sept 2017
● Developed wafer scale testing techniques to characterize and debug MEMS gyroscope sensor designs. Programmed in Labview for wafer-scale and benchtop test solution creation. Designed test regimens for full sensor verification and characterization at the sensor level.
MEMS Product Engineer, Consumer Group, Oct 2013 – Feb 2015
● Coordinated efforts for the development of a low-noise, 2-axis MEMS gyroscope. Areas of purview included benchtop to wafer scale test correlation, reliability testing and failure analysis, sensor characterization, automated high throughput test integration, debug of integration issues, and general project management.
Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, US, MArch, MArch I
Princeton's Professional Master's of Architecture program. My personal trajectory through the program focused on building tech and engineering classes, design seminars related to sensory aesthetics, art & archeology classes on Byzantine and Islamic design and its connection to senses beyond projective vision, programming robotic arms, and the mathematical basis of parametric origami design.
Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, US, PhD, Electrical Engineering
Graduate Researcher, 2008 – 2013
● Professor Sunil Bhave: OxideMEMS group
● Researched the vibrational behavior and opto-mechanical interaction of silicon nitride and oxide hemispherical shells at the micro-scale for application to micro-scale opto-mechanical gyroscopes
● Developed various process flows for associated 3D microfabrication, and tested them in the CNF clean room
● Presented results in poster and presentation form at various conferences and program summits
