The clients are a young couple, with no children. They like to entertain and want to create a lot of functionality in order to use the garden for social events that they organise. They want a curvilinear pool, roughly 11m x 5m, as well as a gazebo of 7m x 4m.

They want a nice bar and bbq area as well as space for a sitting area with loose furniture. They want a dining area for 6 to 8 people, with easy access to the bar and bbq as well as to the house kitchen. They would like a water feature in the entrance and fire feature in the back yard.

They also want to retain some lawn and create shade by natural canopies with some large trees and shrubs. Their preference is for a modern, contemporary look, with some composite decking for the sun bed area which they want close to the pool.

They would like a discreet shower close to the pool access.

Their budget is about US150,000.

There is some existing tiling in the back yard, but will be removed. The entrance and garage is in cement block interlock and will stay as is.
