Winston-Salem, NC
WINSTON-SALEM – (April 18, 2016) – LAMBERT Architecture + Interiors (LAI) is relocating its headquarters to the Journal Building on Marshall and Fifth Streets on April 22nd, anchoring the firm in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem.
LAI’s upcoming relocation is part of a leadership transition. David M. Lambert, who founded LAMBERT Architecture + Interiors in 1989, announced his retirement at the end of 2015. Vice President and co-owner, Stuart H. McCormick, assumed responsibility as President and acquired Lambert’s outstanding shares. McCormick joined LAI in 1994, and previously functioned as Vice-President, and will also continue in his role as Design Principal.
“This transition is bringing about new and dynamic changes for the company,” stated McCormick. “We are currently working on strategic planning for the future and will be announcing new leadership positions within the coming months. We look forward to expanding our presence within the downtown community.”
In addition to designing their own office space, LAMBERT is assisting the new owners of the Journal Building with re-positioning the property as a multi-tenant office building. The Winston-Salem Journal will remain as a prime tenant. McCormick said, “I’ve wanted to locate our offices downtown for several years and this is the right time and the right opportunity. This building has a great history, occupies a prime location, and we are excited to be part of its evolution. We are working with the building owners to re-develop the exterior and interior spaces to create a more open and public building that will engage with the exciting things happening all around it.” McCormick expects renovation designs to be made public in the next few months.
David Lambert is supportive of the company’s endeavors. “With 26 successful years serving top tier institutional and corporate clients, the company is well positioned to leverage a rising economy with its talented team of architectural and interiors professionals,” he stated. “It has been my privilege to have worked alongside a dedicated staff, and to have served clients so important to our community and region,” he added. “It is an ideal time to transition. I am confident that Stuart and his new leadership team will bring continued success to current and future clients."
