The Cass table is a minimalist table celebrating the material of the table top. It grew from a desire to create a large table for a small space. The first generation is a dining table seating six, built with salvaged wood from a barn in Chelsea, Michigan. The steel frame clutches the wood table top, and the steel caps are detailed with reclaimed bolts. The second generation - Cass table II - is a retail scaled version, on display/in use at retail design store Nora in Midtown, Detroit. The table top is built of reclaimed Douglas Fir, with a whitewash finish.
LAAVU creates distinct timeless objects which stand alone as a design statement while integrating well into your designed environment. Each object is made one at a time, using locally sourced and often reclaimed materials.
