Like many American cities, residents in Chattanooga live in the suburbs and commute into downtown, leaving the urban core empty except for parking. This project includes redeveloping Patten Parkway into a local market to bring more activity to the area and siting a mixed-use building in an existing parking lot near historic M L King Boulevard. The building responds to its surrounding urban conditions and creates pedestrian pathways to connect important city landmarks. The project is a community-centered landmark that brings the neighborhood together while embracing the creative energy of the historic arts district.
