Since 2010 I have focused my interests on advancing my knowledge and skillset within the field of architectural studies. In 2015 I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design before attending Columbia GSAPP to receive a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design. I have also worked for various offices including Bohlin Cywinski Jackson which enhanced my understanding of conceptual design in real world settings while also granting opportunities to learn an in-depth skill set for design.
During my undergraduate program I had the opportunity to advance my education with an architectural internship, a photography internship, a work-study program in Chicago, an abroad experience in Switzerland, and a yearlong thesis exploration resulting in my finalist position for
the Pella Thesis Prize. My focus of study directly relates to the pedagogical interest of designing architectural details with interest in not only form and space but also how they directly interact with the occupant.
As an expansion to my academic knowledge at Virginia Tech I attended the year long advanced architecture program at Columbia University. Through three intensive semesters involving travel to Mexico City, Bangladesh, India, Paris, and Geneva my design projects focused on the enhancement of studying collective interactions between urban publics, architectural spaces, and individual occupants. My additional theoretical coursework involved in depth research of historical preservation, global social housing, varying urban densities, and post war monumental architecture.
Currently, my professional career goals include expanding my knowledge of practical architecture building upon a solid educational base. My interests are to consistently push the boundaries of architectural understanding and the limits of a design process to enhance my career and the office teams and individuals I work alongside.
