IRVINE, Calif. -- KTGY Architecture + Planning, a leading full-service design firm focused on residential and mixed-use developments, sustainability and neighborhood revitalization in the U.S., announced today the addition of a new member of the firm’s board of directors, a newly appointed principal and shareholder as well as four new directors. These leaders have shown dedication to forward-thinking, to reinforcing the firm’s devotion to the AIA 2030 commitment and providing innovative solutions, exceptional technical expertise, and superior service. With six offices strategically located throughout the U.S., these promotions and appointments will strengthen the firm’s expanding services and solidify KTGY’s residential expertise.

NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER NAMED:
Jessica Musick, AIA, a principal in KTGY’s Oakland, California office, has been named the newest member of KTGY’s Board of Directors. Musick joined KTGY in 2003 and has since developed a diverse portfolio. She also plays an integral role in establishing the design vision and carrying projects through design approvals. Focusing on urban-infill mixed-use developments, Musick believes that architecture should be deeply rooted in the community where it sits, responsibly responding to client goals, community needs and the urban context. Beyond architecture, Musick serves her local community through KTGY’s sponsorship of an Oakland public school, Madison Park Business & Art Academy, via the Oakland Public Education Fund. Musick also volunteers weekend time to Oakland running club LMJS and works with local runners to train for the Oakland Running Festival half marathon. Musick is a speaker at industry events focused on specific Bay Area City processes and trends. She is frequently quoted about design trends in local and national publications. She has also served as a critic at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. Musick graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree with honors from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
NEW SHAREHOLDER AND PRINCIPAL NAMED:
Jonathan Boriack, AIA, LEED AP has been named a shareholder and principal in KTGY’s Oakland office. He brings a wealth of private sector experience encompassing single and multifamily residential, urban mixed use, commercial, and retail projects completed throughout California. Since joining KTGY in 2012, Boriack’s primary focus has been to build up and support an expert team of architects and designers focused on the master-planning, design, and construction of new single and multifamily communities for public and private homebuilders throughout Northern California. His experience and technical knowledge allow him to spread his management efforts across all project phases from inception, through schematic design and entitlements, to production of construction drawings and construction observation. Boriack thrives on finding creative solutions to the numerous challenges that occur over the course of a project and his attention to detail and passion for excellence has helped him craft long-lasting client relationships and successful residential communities. He is a speaker at industry events and has been quoted in the media about national and regional design and development trends as well as future-forward designs. Boriack is a proud graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree with a minor in Sustainable Environments. He formerly held the position of associate principal.
NEW DIRECTORS NAMED:
Gary J. Leus, AIA, LEED AP has been named a director, production in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Leus arrived at KTGY in 2014 with over 20 years of experience improving lives through the built environment. From affordable housing communities in New York City to Las Vegas resorts, and high-rise towers in Los Angeles, Leus leverages his knowledge to create developments of enduring value. As director, production, Leus leads a team of technically minded architects taking projects from schematic design to construction administration utilizing KTGY’s Quality Assurance | Quality Control process to ensure the original design intent is maintained and that a thriving new community is delivered. Leus previously served as a senior project manager.
Donovan Helminiak has been named director, knowledge management and is based in KTGY’s Irvine, California office. Helminiak joined KTGY in 2015 and is the champion and facilitator for identifying, capturing and using knowledge to enable the people at KTGY to make the best decisions for clients and the firm. With a background in learning and development, business/systems analysis, and internal communications—experience that pulls from multiple industries like automotive, financial, and now architecture, engineering and construction — Helminiak has a unique perspective on how to tackle business problems. Previously, Helminiak held the position of KTGY’s knowledge manager.
Jonathan W. Jaeger, AIA has been promoted to director, production of the for-sale studio in KTGY’s Denver office. Jaeger joined KTGY in 2014 and is responsible for overseeing the production and construction phase of for-sale projects throughout Colorado, Nevada and Utah. Jaeger leads a team of production experts and excels at communicating a clear vision ensuring top-quality developments that meet the needs of both clients and communities. With over 15 years of experience in the field of architecture, he is highly experienced in a variety of residential developments and commercial projects. His work ethic exemplifies KTGY’s commitment to continually search for better. He previously served as a senior project manager.
Adam Hale, LEED AP has been named director, production in KTGY’s Tysons, Virginia office. Hale has over 15 years of experience in multifamily design and construction. As a director of production in KTGY’s Tysons office, Hale is responsible for all phases of the construction process including schematic design and feasibility studies, extensive code analysis, multi-discipline coordination and field and office construction administration. He previously served as a senior project manager.
