This waterfront house evokes the spirit of Northwest living: strong connections to the majesty of place, simple and natural materials, and warm and muted palettes. While casual in its interior spatial arrangement, the structure is more formally expressive with celebrated connections. The home hunkers into the hillside at its entry, while providing perched stone terraces for family-focused activities. Interior gathering spaces open freely to the waterside, while private spaces tend toward smaller, more intimate refuges. Strong horizontal rooflines echo the line of the water’s edge, countered by the massive verticality of the stone chimneys that anchor the home to the ground.
