For this project I designed a pavilion placed outside of the Reeves Municipal Center (said area is highlighted in orange). The purpose of this excavated structure is to embody the empowerment of the Black voice. It should serve as an area for Black people to speak their minds--poetry slams, protests, rap battles, etc. The form resulted from the body language response of two people during a rap battle. It is a dynamic structure with two parts (a more whole piece and an exploded origami one) to represent a dynamic language-- the Black language.
