The passenger station went thru a complete renovation. In order to eliminate pedestrian crossing at track level, an underpass and associated ramps and stairs were designed. Curved metal roof canopies protect approximately 250 lineal feet of platform on either side of the tracks. The post and beam structure, railing and guardrails are all galvanized steel. The system is designed in repetitive modular sections to reduce cost; in addition, the modular bays can easily facilitate a future curtain wall system to further protect the stairs and ramps from the elements.
The station is equiped with snowmelt system as well as latest security devices.
