Education

University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, US, Masters, Master of Environmental Building Design

Environmental Studio. I designed an energy efficient bioclimatic mix-use building in Miami, applying iteration design and building performance simulations (DIVA, Ladybug, Honeybee) during all phases of the design. Project address environmental, economic, and social issues of the site. Resulted design proved to utilize systems just 15% of days annually, reducing its energy consumption
Performed thermal and visual comfort maximization of a prototype unconditioned space in London, UK. I analyzed climate features of the location using EnergyPlus and Radiance and tested a variety of environmental strategies to increased annual adaptive comfort from 22.6% to 71% according to ASHRAE Standard 55 comfort model.
Researched of the green roofs application in new constructions, its economic and environmental benefits, and drawbacks in comparison with conventional black and white roofs.
Studied economic premiums of the “green” buildings certification, including LEED, BREEAM, and EnergyStar.
Created a tool to evaluate the performance of Smart Glass technology.Using Grasshopper and Radiance I wrote a script can be used to reveal Useful Daylighting Illuminance benefit of the Smart Glass and precise number of the hours glass is switched to the different levels of transmittance. Such information can determine whether application of the Smart Glass is feasible or not in a specific case.
