This project was initiated as a food booth in the food court in the convention center, and the owner was willing to have a conceptual bakery coffee shop in a tight working schedule (45days include design and construction to complete before the big convention ceremony in 2 months after), and budget. So the project requires an economical design.

I took advantage of the new site location as it was the corner turn at the entrance of the entire food court to design it as an open kitchen to allow smells to attract visitors and turn them into customers.

The goal of saving budget drives the strategy I used in interior design. The polished, recycled metal pipes are randomly joined via the 90-degree rule that turns the space into semi-privacy partitions. The metal pipes become not only construction partitions but furniture support. I cut the world map and stuck it on the original red brick wall, then painted the wall white and peals it out as a shop background which only cost one bucket of paint. For ceiling illuminations, are only light bulbs hanging on the pipes on the ceiling via original wires. The menus seem written on the blackboard hanging on the wall, but it is actually on the black paint. The Original Cabinets are old and paint drops, but replace it cost large and running out of budget if with the brand kitchen set. Since it looks terrible and is running its duty well, I decided to make a new "facade." Therefore, I paint liquid concrete on a wood board layer and brush the surface to unsmooth it. When light casting on it, the texture grabs people's eyeliner and forgets about the terrible original surface.

My strategy works well, saves time and budget for the owner and my boss. It spent 34 days in design&construction and cost 17k USD.
