For a client interested in urban design and sailing, both were
represented in the architecture. The form of the addition and its red
angled metal cladding camouflages with the local Victorian houses’ red
brick and angular ornamentation. Evoking the sturdy masonry construction
of the Victorian building, the addition features deep windows and
skylight cavities filling the space with soft, indirect light.

The design of the home recognizes that the concept of family can vary,
and therefore, the set of rooms can be adaptable. In this case, it is
specifically tailored for a couple with a dog and frequent long-term
guests.
